Camp at Granite Flats

Lots of good outdoor food, beautiful surroundings, good company, and perfect weather. SUMMER, my favorite time of year!

I'm holding our youngest grandchild, Emma. She's so cute! She likes summer, too, after living in cold Minnesota for her 7 months of life.

Lori and Bill like to take their trailer each year to Granite Flats up American Fork Canyon and camp for about 3 days. Lynda and her 2 oldest boys and Becky braved the tenting. The rest of us came up and spent Friday with them.
Joe came up later in the day with Liam and Ava. Don't blame them for not wanting to camp with 2 little ones this age.
Breton's having fun climbing a fallen tree.
Bill always brings up ATV's for riding in the beautiful high country. Sarah and Allie are having fun on this one.
Breton, Mason, and Jonah are taking their turn.

Bill saw this accident just after it happened while he was on the ATV. He said the woman was on the ground and the Life Flight helicopter was hovering over-head yet to land for her rescue.

We roasted hot dogs for lunch. Wouldn't be a picnic if we didn't do this, would it?

Roasted marshmallows are a must, too!
Good to have Julie and Todd back so they can do these fun things with us. They've been living away in DC and Minnesota for 8 years.
Julie, your hot dog looks like it needs more cooking!
For dinner, Bernell made his famous dutch oven potatoes with carrots and onion, meatballs in mushroom soup, and pineapple-up-side-down cake. Ummm, good!

Lori and Becky enjoying their Dad's good cooking.

We'll be looking forward to this again next summer!

Great pictures! Can't wait for next year, maybe we'll actually camp.

Looks like a fun family get-together! I wouldn't brave the camping with my 2 kids either! Or my husband for that matter....he's not much of a camper. He's says he did enough in scouts to last him a lifetime.
